Matt Shoemaker fell to 9-4 after allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings against the Dodgers Wednesday.
Despite allowing only two runs on Wednesday night, Shoemaker found himself in the loss column after pitching six strong innings. He is now sporting a 4.02 ERA and 1.25 WHIP through 87.1 innings between the bullpen and the starting rotation, but does hold a solid 83:17 K:BB rate along the way. Shoemaker will look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Phillies on Tuesday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Rangers released OF Nate Schierholtz.
Schierholtz was informed that he would not make the team, and the outfielder opted to request his release from the club instead of being sent to the minors. He'll now search for another club that can provide him with a spot on the 25-man roster. Analysis: Ben Diamond
