Matt Latos improved to 4-3 after allowing three runs on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts in 7.2 innings against the Indians on Wednesday.
Lucky for Latos, put that on a T-shirt, lord knows it would fit on one made for Fat Mat Latos. The Reds righty has now been backed by three or more runs in six of his 10 starts this season a range where all of his wins have come this season while going 0-3 in the four starts where he received two or fewer runs of support. Latos' next start will be at home, where he owned an ERA of 4.74 compared to 1.85 away from GABP prior to Wednesday's game, in an interleague matchup against the Red Sox.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Mike Montgomery will make his scheduled start on Sunday.
Montgomery, the Mariners young left-hander, is riding back-to-back complete game shutouts, one of which was a one-hitter. It's tough to be hotter than Montgomery is right now, considering his perfect ERA (0.00), strikeout total (17), and hits allowed (6) over the last two starts, so lets sit back on Sunday and see if he can finally complete the no-hitter against the Oakland A's. Diamondbacks announce Patrick Corbin will start on Saturday.
Corbin has been saying to the media for the past couple of weeks that he's "feeling ready to go" and that he is confident that his stuff is "just as good as it was before". If we choose to believe him, Corbin will be a solid start on Saturday, but coming off a long rehabbed surgery, it might be better to wait on Corbin until he shows a body of work in his post surgery career.
