Orthopedist David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York confirmed that Phillies SP Cliff Lee has a Grade 2 flexor pronator strain, but said no surgery is required.

Lee, whose season is still over with, will spend the next two weeks resting at his home in Arkansas before returning to the team in early September, at which point he will be reevaluated. Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said, We hope to get him into a throwing program in October or November. Amaro added that the team is hopeful Lee will be ready to go by the start of Spring Training next season.
