Fantasy Player Updates & News

Rob Gronkowski (knee) sat out of practice again on Wednesday.

Update: The Dodgers/Braves multi-player deal is reportedly complete, pending approval from the commissioner's office.

Uribe hasn't started a game for the Dodgers in about a week, and he figures to see more playing time in Atlanta. Uribe is more useful with his glove than his bat, but he could have value in NL-only leagues if Atlanta plays him regularly.  Analysis: Brett Talley

After Tuesday night's game, Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny said his level of concern about Matt Adams's injury is "high" and that there will likely be a roster move.

This pretty much confirms that Mark Reynolds is about to see a bump in playing time. Reynolds is worth a look in OBP leagues and deeper standard leagues if you need power. Analysis: Brett Talley

Paul Millsap could reportedly require shoulder surgery this offseason.

With the Hawks being swept out the Conference Finals by Cleveland on Tuesday, this news broke rather quickly. Whether Millsap would be ready to go for the start of next season is unclear from this report. Analysis: Brett Talley

Wilmer Flores went 1-for-4 with a couple of RBI in Tuesday’s 5-4 victory versus the Phillies.

Flores waited until the 10th inning to extend his hitting streak to six games, as the young shortstop delivered a walk-off single that plated Juan Lagares and gave the Mets a dramatic win. During his current run at the plate, Flores has gone 7-for-22 with a homer and six RBI. Analysis: Nate Miller

Jake Elmore went 2-for-5 with four RBI against Seattle on Tuesday.

Elmore was recalled from Triple-A on Monday and made his first start since his return on Tuesday. Asdrubal Cabrera is day-to-day so Elmore could get a start or more two in the near future, but Tim Beckham and Nick Franklin are also in play at the middle infield spots for Tampa, so Elmore’s value is limited for now.  Analysis: Brett Talley

Evan Longoria went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI against Seattle on Tuesday.

Longoria is pretty much on pace to do what he did last year, although his batting average has been better so far this year. But his BABIP is a little elevated, so something in the .260 range going forward might be more reasonable than the .280 mark he has posted so far. He’s not the stud he used to be, but we already knew that, and you didn’t have to pay a stud price to get him. Analysis: Brett Talley

Joey Butler went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs against Seattle on Tuesday.

Butler is hitting .333 with two home runs in 61 plate appearances so far this year, but he has a .436 BABIP and 16 strikeouts compared to just two walks. He’s an option in DFS contests when facing a left-handed starter, and he’s worth a look in deeper leagues where anyone getting work is valuable. But his hot start is a bit of a mirage. Analysis: Brett Talley
