UPDATES & NEWS
Rehabbing right-hander Michael Pineda has told ESPN that he will throw 80 pitches in a start Friday for Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre.
There was earlier speculation that the Yankees may forgo another rehab start in favor of getting him back into the rotation in a hurry but it looks as if cooler heads have prevailed and he'll get at least one more minor league start. Barring any setbacks from this outing though, he could end up making a start for the Yankees as early as next week. Stay tuned...ANALYST: Howard Bender
Johnny Manziel reported for the first day of voluntary workouts Monday.
Manziel has completed his rehab program and is looking to be the team's starting quarterback in 2015. There has been speculation about the Browns drafting a quarterback in this draft, but we will have to wait and see. Their selections in the draft will give us a glimpse of what the organization thinks about Manziel, as well as how they feel about him as their starting quarterback. The draft will be a big indicator to us, and to Johnny Football, about his status in Cleveland. Analysis: Colby Conway
Joe Nathan (elbow) threw a full bullpen session Monday.
Nathan was able to throw off a mound on Saturday, but today was his first full bullpen session since suffering the elbow injury. Joakim Soria has been dynamite as the team's closer, and it is quite possible that he returns from the DL as the team's set-up man, not the closer. This is worth monitoring, especially if you own Nathan or Soria. Analysis: Colby Conway
