Update: Andrew Cashner will throw on the side Tuesday, pitch 2-3 innings Friday for High-A Lake Elsinore, followed by two outings at Double-A, then hopefully be back with the Padres between August 22-24, according to manager Bud Black.

Cashner's progress has been slow and steady and obviously, given his injury history, the Padres are being extremely cautious. He'll graduate through the system here over the next two and a half weeks and may end up being a nice final-month starter for you down the stretch.
