David Ortiz was 1-for-2 with a walk and a three run home run in a losing effort to the Yankees on Sunday night.
The home run was Big Papi's 26th of the season and his third over his past 10 games. The 26 home runs place Ortiz in a tie with Jays Edwin Encarnacion and Marlins Giancarlo Stanton for third most among MLB hitters this season and his 82 RBI has him in sole possession of third place in all of baseball.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Jed Lowrie left Monday's game with a thumb injury. He's going back to Houston Tuesday for an MRI.
In all likelihood Jonathan Villar or Marwin Gonzalez will fill in for Lowrie if he misses extended time, but there's an outside chance the first-place Astros call up uber-prospect Carlos Correa for his first major league taste. Correa is murdering the Texas League (Double-A) to the tune of .375/.429/.719 with four home runs and two stolen bases. He's worth a speculative add in competitive leagues until the situation becomes more clear. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has hinted that he wouldn't be scared to "lift" Correa straight from Double-A at some point. Analysis: Spencer Silva
