A.J. Burnett (elbow) will rest for four weeks and then begin a throwing program.

Burnett was shut down with elbow soreness which he admitted to trying to pitch through over his past couple starts which led to some very poor outings. Chad Bettis (elbow) was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday.

Bettis landed on the DL following his start on 7/18 and will likely require a few rehab stints assuming his bullpen sessions go well before being activated. This season for the Rockies Bettis is 5-4 with a 4.88 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
