Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during the Marlins' 5-2 loss to the Reds on Friday.
Stanton stayed hot, having now homered in three straight games, bringing his season total up to 26 with 74 RBI while slashing .293/.394/.552 through 406 at-bats. It may have taken a little while for him to get going in the second half, after his last homer came on July 19 before his current streak, but he is back on track and still remains one of the top fantasy options to own moving forward. Titans head coach Mike Mularkey said the team is giving Marcus Mariota more chances to run the football.
One of the bigger surprises this fantasy season has been the lack of running by Mariota, considering he came from a read option offense in Oregon. However, the rookie quarterback has still been a solid fantasy option despite the lack of running, so this will give a slight boost to his value if he is able to churn out a few yards on the ground. It’s always a tough situation when quarterbacks run more as they open themselves up for injury, but the Titans must feel confident that Mariota will know how to protect himself when he decides to take off and run.
