Mat Latos allowed one run on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts over seven innings against the Marlins on Friday.
Latos evened out his record at 3-3 on Friday night after allowing just one run through seven innings. He is now sitting on a 3.07 ERA and 0.94 WHIP through his first nine starts, but has endured a drop in strikeouts, having fanned only 37 batters over 58.2 innings. As long as he can keep his ratios down he makes for a solid starter every time he takes the mound, although a 2.47 K/BB ratio isn't the most appealing. He will look to keep up the pace when he takes on the Indians on Wednesday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Trevor Cahill has secured the final spot in the Diamondbacks' rotation.
With this news, it is confirmed that Daniel Hudson will start the season out of the team's bullpen. Cahill really struggled last season, but the team believes his revamped mechanics will equate to better success this season. In 17 starts and 14 relief appearances last year, he compiled a rough 5.61 ERA. Starters in Arizona will likely be back-end starters in many fantasy rotations this season. Analysis: Colby Conway
