Jonathon Niese gave up five runs (three earned) on nine hits with no walks and five strikeouts over eight innings against the Giants on Friday.

It wasn't a terrible outing for the Mets' pitcher. In fact, it indicative of the season he is having: not bad but not spectacular. For the year, Niese has a 3.24 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 122.1 innings pitched. Tonight, he had a 3.38 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. He's a decent streaming option, who is most likely not going to dominate anybody.
