Update: Yankees GM Brain Cashman said they are hoping to stretch Michael Pineda out to about 50 pitches in his rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Scranton.
The Yankees still haven't set up a return timetable here, but given the progression of pitch-counts, he's still at least two weeks away. He's an interesting stash right now but is likely to be a very high risk/medium reward guy when he does finally come back.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Teams have begun to eye Braves starting pitcher Shelby Miller.
What a shock. Suddenly teams are interested in a 24-year old who is 5-1 with a 1.33 ERA and 43:16 K:BB over 54.0 innings. Never saw that coming. The Braves did a nice job not only acquiring Miller, but also in developing him more. His use of a new cutter is increasing his ground ball rate and he is inducing a lot more weak contact. As a result, strikeouts are up, walks are down and Miller looks like a tremendous asset.Expect teams to make pitches for Miller, but don't expect the Braves to bite. Analysis: Howard Bender
