Addison Reed registered his 27th save of the season after allowing one hit while striking out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning in Thursday's win over the Pirates.

Reed was able to collect his second save in as many days on Thursday, expect this time he did not allow a three-run home run in the final frame. He has now converted 27 of his first 32 save opportunities with his last blown-save coming back on July 8. Although his 3.15 ERA and 1.15 WHIP aren't the most appealing, the fact that he has just 12 walks over 44.1 innings while striking out 52 batters certainly makes him well worth a roster spot moving forward.
