Update: Aroldis Chapman, who converted his 24th save of the season Thursday, appeared to still be dealing with lingering soreness in his hamstring.
Chapman continues to deal with a sore hamstring that has bothered him for a couple weeks now, but it has not affect his performance on the mound and he insists he is fine to pitch on Friday if called upon. ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Joakim Soria will throw a bullpen session Thursday.
Soria was acquired last season by the Tigers as an insurance policy for the struggling Joe Nathan but he found himself getting injured just six games after being acquired which forced him to miss more than a month. In 13 games with the Tigers last season Soria went 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA after posting a 2.70 ERA with the Rangers prior to the trade. The Tigers expect Nathan to be their closer heading into the season which will mean Soria will once again be in a set up role. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
