Yankees manager Joe Girardi is optimistic first baseman Mark Teixeira (lat) won't need a stint on the disabled list and could be back in the lineup by Tuesday or Wednesday.
The Yankees will continue to evaluate Teixeira on a daily basis and make their decision then. They've done everything possible to have him avoid the DL, so it looks like it may have worked. No one can say for sure, but we'll see the lineups Tuesday and find out.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Indians recalled P Austin Adams from Triple-A Columbus.
Adams will take the roster spot of Scott Atchison, who was placed on the disabled list on Thursday. The 28-year-old reliever owns a 5.40 ERA at Triple-A Columbus, but has shown the ability to rack up strikeouts as evident by his 14.0 K/9 this year. The Indians are likely to use him in the middle innings. Analysis: David Kerr
Indians placed Carlos Santana on the paternity list.
Santana is going to miss a few days while on the paternity list, so be sure to remove him from your fantasy lineup. He can miss up to three days, though it is unknown whether he will use the allotted amount of time. Jerry Sands was called up to take Santana's place on the Indians roster. Analysis: David Kerr
Leonys Martin is not in the Rangers starting lineup on Thursday.
Martin is struggling across the board this season to the tune of a .215 average, so he will take a seat against the Red Sox on Thursday night. It's worth noting that Martin is actually hitting lefties (.245) better than righties (.198), but the team feels as though batting Delino DeShields Jr. in the leadoff spot against a lefty will benefit them overall. Martin will be back in the lineup over the weekend. Analysis: David Kerr
White Sox recalled RHP Chris Beck from Triple-A Charlotte.
As is often the case with a doubleheader, the White Sox needed a spot start, so they are giving the ball to Chris Beck. The 24-year-old prospect doesn't have elite minor league numbers and actually has posted a paltry 5.5 K/9 rate over four minor league seasons. Beck will face off against Mike Wright on Thursday night, so this should be a relatively high scoring game for those of you that are looking to stack in DFS games. Analysis: David Kerr
White Sox optioned Scott Carroll to Triple-A Charlotte.
Carroll has made eight relief appearances for the White Sox this season, but his 3.12 ERA is quite deceiving. With seven strikeouts and seven walks, Carroll has been extremely lucky to have given up only six earned runs in 17.1 innings pitched. He'll head back to Triple-A and serve as depth for Chicago.
