Josh Hamilton is not in the Angels starting lineup on Saturday.

Hamilton tweaked his knee during Friday's game and left early, so it was a long shot for him to play Saturday. Efren Navarro, who filled in for Hamilton Friday, will start in left field.ANALYST: Howard Bender

X-rays on L.J. Hoes' right wrist were negative.

Houston's outfield is awfully crowded, and there is a pretty decent chance Hoes begins the season in the minors even if he is healthy. Hoes has little speed and even less power, and would be largely irrelevant for fantasy even if he made the roster out of Spring Training. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Dwyane Wade (knee) is a gametime decision Sunday.

With Hassan Whiteside and Chris Anderson already out, the Heat will need Wade to play if they have any shot at beating the Pistons. If Wade is out Mario Chalmers would be a nice fantasy play. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Chris Andersen (calf) will not play on Sunday.

Anderson does little for fantasy, but his injury opens up more playing time for Udonis Haslem. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Hassan Whiteside (hand) will not play Sunday.

Whiteside has been great this season, but it will be hard to trust him next season considering all the games he has missed. With Chris Andersen out as well, Udonis Haslem will have to play nearly all of the minutes at center for Miami. Michael Beasley should see more playing time as well. Both are decent fantasy plays. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Casey Janssen will have an MRI on his right shoulder on Monday.

Janssen is slated to be the primary setup man in Washington and the handcuff for closer Drew Storen. Blake Treinen is next in line behind Janssen though the Nationals could look to sign Rafael Soriano if Janssen's shoulder injury is serious. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Josh Reddick (oblique) says he feels good physically after five-inning minor league game Sunday.

Reddick still probably will not be ready for Opening Day, but he may only miss a few games. Reddick has 12 home runs each of the last two seasons after hitting 32 in 2012. He probably will not ever hit 32 again, but he could flirt with 20 if he can stay healthy. Analysis: Steve Pimental

J.P. Arencibia was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a flexor mass strain.

Arencibia was expected to pick up some of the slack behind the plate with Matt Wieters beginning the season on the disabled list. This injury leaves Caleb Joseph and Steve Clevenger as the only healthy backstops in Baltimore. If Arencibia is going to miss significant time it could lead the Orioles to trade for a catcher like Wellington Castillo. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Update: Devin Mesoraco left Sunday's game with a cramp in his left quad.

It is good to hear Mesoraco's injury does not appear to be serious. Feel free to draft him as you normally would. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Odubel Herrera will begin the season as the Phillies' starting centerfielder.

Manager Ryne Sandberg appeared to be leaning towards Herrera in center field and Ben Revere in left all spring, so this is not surprising. Herrera stole 21 bases in 125 games between High-A and Double-A last season, but his speed is pretty much the extent of his fantasy value. Analysis: Steve Pimental

David Lough may begin the season on the disabled list with a sore hamstring.

If Lough is out it would likely mean even more playing time for Travis Snider. Lough played reasonably well for the Orioles last season, but Snider has far greater fantasy upside. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez on the shelf with an elbow issue, which may require Tommy John surgery.

Vazquez saw Dr. James Andrews, so Tommy John surgery is at least on the table. The Red Sox could trade for somebody to take over at catcher if Vazquez is out and they do not believe Blake Swihart is ready. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Phillies have named Cole Hamels their Opening Day starter.

The Phillies are pretty dysfunctional, but even they aren't silly enough to name somebody else the Opening Day starter. The only reason he wasn't named sooner was because the Phillies did not want to trade him after naming him the Opening Day starter. He could still be traded at some point during the season. Analysis: Steve Pimental
