The Mets place RHP Daisuke Matsuzaka (elbow) on the 15-Day disabled list.
Matsuzaka was pitching well out of the bullpen for one appearance, then he gave up three earned runs and two home runs in Milwaukee on Thursday past. It is an elbow problem, so that is of concern but the MRI revealed only inflammation so there is hope he will be back once his initial stint on the DL is over. Buddy Carlyle was recalled to take his place on the roster.ANALYST: Ivar G. Anderson
Jarrod Parker (elbow) hit 92 mph in his simulated game on Saturday.
Parker's surgery was in March of last year, knocking him out for all of 2014. Recovery has gone well for him, and he made a big step earlier in the Spring by throwing to live hitters. This was his second Tommy John procedure, so it's not a surprise that the Athletics are taking it slow with him. Parker had a decent year in 2013, his second full season in the majors, throwing 197 innings en route to a 3.97 ERA and 134 strikeouts. He's not a viable fantasy option this year, though, due to his injury. Analysis: Ben Diamond
