Jadeveon Clowney (sports hernia) is participating in Saturday morning's practice.

Clowney doesn't seem to be adversely affected by the hernia surgery he underwent and it looks like business as usual for the highly-touted rookie. He is expected to be a beast for the Texans and should be a coveted target in IDP leagues.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Eddie Butler left Monday's game against the A's with right shoulder fatigue.

The Rockies' rotation has been stirred up, with the release of Jhoulys Chacin and the injuries suffered by Jorge de la Rosa and David Hale. If Butler cannot go to start the season, then Christian Bergman, Jon Gray, and John Lannan are all in the mix to join the starting rotation. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Joe Nathan (broken thumbnail) threw a scoreless ninth inning Monday against the Braves.

Nathan has looked decent in the spring and is going to open the season as the Detroit closer, although his leash is short, and his fastball is clocked at 90 MPH at best. Expect Joakim Soria to take over if Nathan cannot handle the 9th inning duties. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Update: J.J. Hardy will not participate in any baseball activities for a minimum of 10 days after an enhanced MRI revealed a strained muscle below his left shoulder blade.

If you have not drafted yet, then you may want to discount Hardy's value even more than normal. The Orioles have Everth Cabrera to step in, whether Hardy is out a week or possibly more. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Cubs have informed Phil Coke that he has made team.

Coke is a decent left handed reliever, although he does have his issues as he is not a huge strikeout pitcher and suffers from control issues at times. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Rolando McClain’s visit with the Patriots ended without a contract.

He is still facing a four game suspension to begin the 2015 campaign, for a substance abuse policy violation. He did play well for Dallas, racking up 85 tackles in 13 games, with one sack, two interceptions and three pass deflections. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Jeremy Hellickson will start the third game of the season.

Hellboy gets to show his stuff to open the season. He has not been stellar this spring, but the Diamonbacks traded for him to join the rotation, and thus he will be there once the season begins. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Anthony Bennett (ankle) is available to play Monday against the Jazz.

He resprained his ankle on Sunday, but with the lack of players to play in the forecourt for the Timberwolves, if he can take to the court, expect him to play on Monday. Even if he plays, he is not someone to target in daily leagues, given his limited production. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Yoan Lopez has been reassigned to minor league camp.

He is probably destined for High-A given his success in half of his appearance. The other games he has pitched in have pushed his spring ERA to 8.38, indicating the Cuban import has some issues to work out before becoming major league ready. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Update: An updated injury report says that Kevin Martin (hamstring) is available to play Monday.

Well, ignore that previous post. If he plays, then Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins will see less minutes on the court against the Jazz. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Kevin Martin (hamstring) will not play Monday against the Jazz. He will be dressed for the game.

His absence will mean that Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins will see additional time in the Minnesota backcourt. This marks the fifth consecutive game he has missed with a "mild" hamstring injury. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Travis Ishikawa had an MRI on his back that showed nothing alarming. He will play again on Thursday.

The injury does not appear to be serious. With Hunter Pence likely to miss a month or so to begin the season, Ishikawa has a chance to make his presence known in April. I would not draft him, since he is at best a platoon player against right handed pitchers, but in a NL-only league he could have some value. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Pirates and outfielder Gregory Polanco have begun negotiating a new contract.

As well the team should. He is looking like a long-term player in the Pirate outfield, with McCutchen and Marte. He just jacked out two homers recently in spring play, so he is getting into a groove at just the right time with the season opening next week. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Archie Bradley is in the mix for the final bullpen spot.

Bradley has been a top prospect in the Diamondback system for the past three years, but before you begin drafting him, realize that a stint in the minors to start the season would give Arizona another year of control over their young stud pitcher may mean a May/June/July callup for him. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
