#Browns WR Josh Gordon has checked himself into rehab after his recent DWI charge.
Although Gordon is awaiting his appeal hearing for his one-year suspension from the NFL, it appears he has taken the advice of those around him and will take the first step in trying to turn his life around. Battling addiction is not an easy task, as we have seen with many other players throughout the years, but at least he is now taking the right steps to not only return to football, but become a better person. Phillies recalled Cody Asche from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The Phillies seem ready to commit to Asche as their new starting left fielder which certainly gums up the outfield configuration for veterans like Ben Revere, Grady Sizemore and Jeff Francoeur. It also displaces Darin Ruf. While they may be happy with the defensive work he did down in the minors, Asche's bat never really heated up, so the team is still going to have some serious offensive woes. This plan may have looked good on paper, but it should be re-visited in a couple of weeks to see how things are panning out. Analysis: Howard Bender
