Fantasy Player Updates & News  2016 MLB Draft Guide Is Here!

Dolphins OL Mike Pouncey and RB Knowshon Moreno will start training camp on PUP list.

We reported on Pouncey earlier, but Moreno was a new entry here. His knee issues have been long-documented during the offseason and while he is expected to be ready for Week 1, no one believes he'll make it through a full season. No one.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Dexter Fowler could sign with the Orioles if they can sign Yovanni Gallardo.

The Orioles will have to part with a second-round pick should they ultimately sign Fowler, but the team appears willing to do so if they can lock up Gallardo in their rotation over the next few years. Analysis: Nate Miller

76ers have shown interest in trading for Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder.

Rumors have been swirling around the Hawks' solid duo of point guards with Teague been the subject of most. Just add the 76ers to the list of apparent suitors that already includes Indiana, New York, Milwaukee and Utah.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Marc Gasol (foot) is expected to miss 4-6 months.

In a devastating blow for the Grizzlies, Gasol has been confirmed to have a broken bone in his foot and will almost certainly miss the remainder of the season. Memphis is currently sitting fifth in the Western Conference standings, but only 4.5 games up on ninth-place Portland. Gasol has put up per-game marks of 16.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists so far this season. Analysis: Nate Miller

As of 4 pm on Wednesday $10 million of Drew Brees $20 million becomes guaranteed.

This development just simply confirms that Drew Brees will indeed be staying in New Orleans. That is something that was never really in serious doubt.  Analysis: Nate Miller

Giants have avoided arbitration with Brandon Belt by agreeing to a one-year deal worth $6.2 million.

The Giants have an extended run of not going into arbitration with any of their players, as they stretched that streak to 11 years with this deal. Belt has yet to have the major breakout that many envisioned for him, but he has been a steady contributor for the Giants over the last few years.  Analysis: Nate Miller

John Henson (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game.

Henson's back issue will require him to miss a seventh consecutive game. Expect Miles Plumlee to continues seeing extra run in the Bucks' rotation. Analysis: Nate Miller

Eagles have re-signed Najee Goode to a one-year deal.

Goode has spent each of the last three seasons in Philly and saw action in 14 games in 2015, making five total tackles. Analysis: Nate Miller

Greg Monroe said he expects to come off the bench again on Thursday.

Monroe started Tuesday's game on the bench as well but that did not stop him from putting up a monster game where he scored 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds over 30 minutes. Despite not starting fantasy owners should expect a full night's worth of production from Monroe on Thursday. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Kyle Anderson (illness) will play on Wednesday.

Anderson has been averaging nearly 19 minutes a game during the month of February as he plays a key part in the Spurs deep bench rotation. In terms of fantasy value there is very limited value here with Anderson given his current role on the team. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Armonty Bryant has been indicted on felony drug charges.

According to court documents adderall, marijuana, oxycodone and two other gun were found in the car on Christmas morning this past December when Bryant and a former teammate were pulled over for speeding. The Browns have not yet cut ties with Bryant but not only is he being tried for felony drug charges but he is also going to suffer discipline by the NFL for violating the leagues personal conduct policy. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Phillies have designated Bobby LaFromboise for assignment on Wednesday.

LaFromboise appeared in 11 games for the Pirates last season going 0-0 with a 1.13 ERA while striking out eight over eight innings. At the minor league level last season he appeared in 54 games for Triple-A Indianapolis where he went 1-2 with a 2.98 ERA while striking out 52 over 54.1 innings. He has 27 career major league games games over his career, going 0-1 with a 3.63 ERA while striking out 23 over 22.1 innings. He will likely sign a minor league contract with another team and compete for a spot in the bullpen. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Blue Jays have said Gavin Floyd is expected to compete for a spot in the rotation.

The Blue Jays have a number of rotation options to sift through this spring but it seems like Marcus Stroman, R.A. Dickey, Marco Estrada and J.A. Happ are locked into the top four slots. That means Floyd will have to out-pitch Drew Hutchison, Jesse Chavez, Scott Copeland, Brad Penny and Roberto Hernandez (the ex-Fausto Carmona guy, not the old reliever). It's not exactly a daunting task for most, but considering Floyd is dealing with a rebuilt arm here, his chances are actually lower than most to succeed. It will be something to track during the spring, but you'd be hard-pressed to trust and of these fifth-starter candidates in a hitter's haven like Toronto. Analysis: Howard Bender

While Drew Storen seems to be a favorite, the Blue Jays are expected to name the team's closer by mid-to-late spring training.

Storen was one of the National League's top closers last season, saving 29 games for the Nationals however he was removed from the role when Washington traded for Jonathan Papelbon. The Blue Jays saw Roberto Osuna save 20 games to lead their team in 2015 and it is likely that he will be Storen's main competition for the closer's role this spring. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

James Michael McAdoo (toe) will not play on Wednesday.

McAdoo has yet to play in the new year but even when healthy the forward was seeing just 5.9 minutes per game so there is no real fantasy impact here with his absence. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
