Michael Pineda threw a 30 pitch simulated game Thursday, facing no hitters. He will progress to throwing three innings or 45 pitches against hitters in five days.
Hard to tell when Pineda is actually going to come back. Simulated games and bullpen sessions will last until the team feels that they can not only increase his pitch count but that he's built up enough strength and stamina to go the long haul. Mid to late August seems like a good target date.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Derrick Rose will not play against the Bucks Wednesday.
Rose was doing full-contact drills Monday and participating in 5-on-5 work Tuesday. He's building up his conditioning and it shouldn't be much longer before he's back on the court. How many minutes he logs per game once he does return might be in question as the Bulls are looking more towards the playoffs than anything else. Analysis: Howard Bender
Terrence Jones (ribs, lung) wil play Wednesday.
Jones has missed the last six games with a collapsed lung, so to see him get back on the court Wednesday is great news just from a humanistic standpoint. If he can continue to shine glass as he's done throughout the season (7.3 boards per game), then he'll be a nice asset down the stretch. Analysis: Howard Bender
