Update: Ray Rice is being suspended for first two games of the NFL season.
Well now that was quick. He went from possibly not being suspended to a two game chop. In the grand scheme of things, we're not looking at a lot of time. However, it does give Bernard Pierce a bigger opportunity to carve out a larger role for himself in the offense. The questions of how much work will Pierce get this season should be answered by his performance over the first two weeks of the season.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Cecil Shorts might be ready to play against Jacksonville in Week 6.
Both Shorts and Nate Washington missed Thursday's game, making way for Jaelen Strong and Keith Mumphery. While strong caught two TDs, Mumphery was a non-factor. Strong earned himself more playing time in the coming weeks, possibly coming at Shorts' expense, though it could come at Washington's as coach Bill O'Brien said that Shorts had a better chance of playing against Jacksonville than Washington does.
