Carlos Santana went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a pair of runs scored against the Twins on Tuesday.

Santana has been pretty quiet since coming out of the break, so a game like this was much-needed by him and his fantasy owners. He's only batting .215, but his .353 OBP helps us see that he can still contribute elsewhere besides just home runs. His 42 runs scored and 42 RBI aren't exactly world-beating totals, but when compared to other catcher out there, those numbers look fantastic.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Starlin Castro is not in the Cubs starting lineup on Friday.

Nothing to fear, Castro is just getting a regularly scheduled day of rest. The Cubs will have Addison Russell move over to cover shortstop and Jonathan Herrera gets a chance to start at second base.  Analysis: Drew Phelps

ESPN sources say the Wizards are pushing hard to land David West.

The veteran power forward averaged 11.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists over 28.7 minutes per game last season for the Pacers. His veteran leadership is as much a part of his game as his work in the frontcourt and several teams are expected to be courting the 34-year old. If the Wizards are going to make a hard push, then an offer should come soon. Analysis: Howard Bender

Kris Bryant is the first rookie in Cubs history with at least 10 home runs, 40 runs and 40 RBI by the end of June.

Bryant has been producing exactly as his owners had thought he would. The power is there, the run production is there and yes, the strikeouts are there too. He's even thrown in six stolen bases to add to the fun. Hopefully, with time, the plate discipline will improve and that 30-percent strikeout rate will drop some, but for now, there's no reason to complain with what he's give you thus far. Analysis: Howard Bender

Cole Hamels is unlikely to accept a trade to the Houston Astros.

Hamels has a limited no trade clause that allows him to block trades to 20 teams. Hamels would be the perfect target for the Astros as a true ace with team control beyond this season, but they will have to work elsewhere. Hamels will have a better chance at wins wherever he winds up, but a trade to the American League would obviously hurt his fantays value. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Brewers recalled RHP David Goforth from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Goforth has a 1.63 K/BB rate at Triple-A this season, and unless he shows marked improvement, he will not last in Milwaukee's bullpen for long. He could still improve, but he should not be on anyone's fantasy radar right now. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Brewers recalled RHP Tyler Cravy from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Cravy was very good in his MLB debut in June, allowing one earned run in seven innings in St. Louis. His minor league numbers are not particularly impressive, but if Cravy gets to start he is intriguing for deep leagues. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Brewers optioned RHP Corey Knebel to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Knebel's overall numbers are pretty solid, though his 4.12 FIP is not as good as his 2.95 ERA. Knebel allowed a run in two of his last three outings, but do not expect him to stay at Colorado Springs for long. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Brewers optioned Jason Rogers to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Rogers batted .236/.284/.360 in 95 plate appearances after his call up in April. He will likely be back with the Brewers if there is an injury to a corner infielder, but he is not a fantasy consideration outside of deep NL-only leagues. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Archie Bradley (shoulder) will rest his arm for around 10 days and then resume a throwing program.

At this point there is no reason to expect Bradley to be an effective fantasy starter this season. He is probably worth holding onto in NL-only, as he could return around the trade deadline, but he is droppable in non-keeper formats. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Matt Harrison (spine surgery) will be activated from the 60-day disabled list on Friday

Harrison will need to prove he is still effective before he can be added in mixed leagues. He is worth keeping an eye on, but there is no reason to add him yet. Analysis: Steve Pimental

Jake Odorizzi (left oblique strain) hopes to return to the Rays rotation next week, although it hasn't yet been decided whether he'll require a second rehab start.

Odorizzi has been out since June 5, so a second rehab start would not be unusual. If he does return next week, it would likely be sometime in the Rays' four-game series at Kansas City. Analysis: Steve Pimental
