Bucs coach Lovie Smith doesn't plan to use Doug Martin to the extent that old coach Greg Schiano did the last two years.
The Bucs plan is to utilize all of their running backs in an effort to keep Martin healthy coming off of a serious shoulder injury. However, Martin is expected to get the lion share of the carries while being used out of the backfield on passing plays. With a very good wide receiving core on paper, the running game for the Bucs could be one of the better backfields to invest in, that is if everyone lives up to their full potential. LeSean McCoy and Fred Jackson could split third-down snaps.
Due to his tenure in Buffalo, Jackson is going to get some work, but this won't be a 50/50 split by any means. McCoy is an uber-talented back who will be the bell cow out in Buffalo. Fantasy owners who draft McCoy in drafts this upcoming season should also draft Jackson, solely as a handcuff option. The reported split should be taken with a grain of salt until we get clarification closer to season time. Analysis: Colby Conway
Marlins released SS Yosmany Guerra.
Guerra is 32 years old and has yet to play at a level higher than Double-A. He wasn't really a fantasy asset to begin with, but this news just confirms that notion. If for some unforsaken reason you rostered Guerra, it is time to release him, just like the Marlins did today. Analysis: Colby Conway
