Jonathon Niese returned from the DL and gave up four runs on 11 hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings against the mariners on Monday.

Not the most auspicious way to kick things off, but a slight struggle after time spent on the DL is expected. He got hit around pretty hard, but considering just how many base-runners he allowed, four earned runs seems like a blessing. He was certainly helped by nine ground ball outs and one key double play and left after throwing 93 pitches (63 strikes). He'll look to get back on-track against Milwaukee his next time out.
