Giancarlo Stanton doubled, scored a run, and stole a base in four at-bats of Sunday’s 3-2 victory over the Giants.
Stanton had homered in his previous two games so I am a little disappointed in his performance.. All kidding aside Stanton is on pace to play his first full season since appearing in 150 games back in 2011. A healthy Stanton is a fun player to watch and this season has been no different as he hitting .295 with 23 home runs and 65 RBI. The Marlins next game comes against Julio Teheran and the Braves. Teheran has actually fared well against Stanton holding him to just two hits over 15 at bats ANALYST: Jonathan Impemba
Henry Owens will make his spring-training debut Friday.
While Owens' ERA jumped with his move to Triple-A last season, his K:BB spiked, leaving the Red Sox believing that he could be ready fro a jump to the majors soon. He'll debut this spring but will likely open the year at Triple-A to hone his craft. Should he dominate, the team could potentially bring him up for the second half. Analysis: Howard Bender
Hank Conger is dealing with a sore left wrist.
With the Astros saying that Evan Gattis will not play behind the plate at all this season, Conger steps in as the unequivocal back-up to Jason Castro. He's not really competing with Max Stassi who is seeing time in camp right now. Conger is day-to-day but should be just fine in a few days. Analysis: Howard Bender
