Mets activated LHP Jonathon Niese from the 15-day disabled list.

Niese made his last start on the Fourth of July against the Rangers, pitching just one-third of inning before exiting with the shoulder issue. Niese has been solid in 2014, posting a 2.96 ERA in 103 1/3 innings. He's not a great resource for strikeouts anymore, but you can't argue with the park and division. He'll start Monday night against the Mariners in Seattle, a cushy match-up. ANALYST: Spencer Silva
