Mets activated LHP Jonathon Niese from the 15-day disabled list.
Niese made his last start on the Fourth of July against the Rangers, pitching just one-third of inning before exiting with the shoulder issue. Niese has been solid in 2014, posting a 2.96 ERA in 103 1/3 innings. He's not a great resource for strikeouts anymore, but you can't argue with the park and division. He'll start Monday night against the Mariners in Seattle, a cushy match-up. ANALYST:
Jake Marisnick was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored on Thursday night against the Royals.
Jake Marisnick had two hits from the bottom of the order which included a double and a run scored in Houston’s 5 -2 win over Kansas City on Thursday night. His double in the second inning with two outs kept the inning alive and Marisnick scored on a single by Jose Altuve before Yordano Ventura left the game after a rain delay in the second inning. Although Marisnick struggled in the second half, he did finish September/October with a .275 average with three home runs and seven stolen bases. Analysis: Greg Jewett
