UPDATES & NEWS
Jeff Samardzija gave up four runs on six hits and a walk with just four strikeouts over seven innings of the no-decision Friday against the Orioles.
Samardzija was in line for the loss Friday night, but the A's offense bailed him out in the bottom of the ninth as they came back from being down 4-2 to win 5-4 on a Josh Donaldson three-run, walk-off home run. The Shark was anything but that for the second consecutive outing with his new team as he has now allowed seven runs over his last 15 innings pitched. He will look to get back to his dominating ways in his next start at home Thursday against the Astros.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Update: Corey Dickerson was removed from Saturday's game with a left quad injury.
While the news regarding Dickerson's plantar fasciitis was positive, he was removed after he fouled a ball off his back leg and is now day-to-day with what the team is calling a quad injury. When his leg appeared to be swollen, manager Walt Weiss opted to play it safe and remove Dickerson who had gone 0-for-3 in Saturday's game against the Giants. Consider him day-to-day for right now and figure he'll be a game-time decision for Sunday. Analysis: Howard Bender
