Derek Jeter followed up his multi-hit performance in the All-Star game with another one Friday going 2-for-4 with two base hits and two runs scored in the win over the Reds.
The multi-hit game was his 27th in 84 games, (28th if you want to be cute a cut the retiring shortstop a break), and his fourth over his last six games raising his season average to .275. Jeter is hitting .346 (9-for-26) over that six game span and is worth owning for his improving success at the plate in addition for what he can contribute in the often ignored runs scored category (33 runs).ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Carlos Gonzalez (knee) was removed from Friday's game for precautionary reasons.
To borrow one from Adam Carolla: Sssssssssssssssssssssshocking. Gonzalez has managed just 717 plate appearances combined in the last two years, and fantasy owners are all too familiar with his health woes. When healthy in the last two seasons, he's struck out a fair bit more than he ever has before, so we can longer treat CarGo as a top option when healthy. There's definitely upside, but it's hard to imagine him reaching it. Analysis: Brett Talley
