UPDATES & NEWS
DeMarcus Ware’s weight is down to 250-255 pounds.
“I feel better than I did the last two years going into the season,” Ware said. “Stronger, faster. I feel flexible.”
Ware missed three games last season due to injury which resulted in him registering just six sacks which is the lowest of his NFL career. He was one of the biggest offseason acquisitions in football this year after signing with the Broncos who have hopes of once again getting to the Superbowl. If healthy there is no reason to think Ware won't register his 8th season of double digit sacks.ANALYST: Jonathan Impemba
Curtis Granderson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run on Friday night against his former Yankees club
Granderson was happy to be back in his old stomping grounds on Friday night, as he went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and made a few impressive defensive plays out in right field. He has started out rather cold at the dish on the season (.222) so his two hits were encouraging, but what has been impressive so far this year is his great plate discipline. He is not the power hitter that he once was, but he might be making some strides in transforming his game into a more patient hitter. Analysis: Dom Murtha
Mark Teixeria went 2-for-4 with two home runs and 4 RBI on Friday night vs the Mets
Tex was locked in on Friday night, as he refused to allow deGrom to get a fastball by him. Both of his home runs were balls that he turned on and launched into the second deck of the house that Jeter built. Of his 12 hits on the year, seven of them are home runs. He may not be hitting for average, but Tex is certainly making the most of his contact by slugging at a high clip. Going forward understand that his average won’t be there, but his power surge is an encouraging sign. Analysis: Dom Murtha
