The Pistons and Kings are once more discussing trade scenarios involving Pistons forward Josh Smith and are on the hunt for a third team to make a deal work.
Smith's first season in Motown did not go as planned, but a fresh start may get this triple-double threat back on the right track. If he was to join the Kings, he would make for a great addition to already solid froncourt that already features DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay. Although this would look great on paper, there needs to be more contracts and players involved, including the addition of another team, before any serious discussions are made. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Eddie Lacy (ankle) was a full participant in practice on Tuesday.
Lacy had a resurgent game in Minnesota Sunday totaling his best yardage of the season. With his ankle and groin injuries now seemingly behind him maybe his owners can get a stretch run of games like they have been waiting for all year. He should be started as either a flex candidate or RB2 going against a weak Bears defense on Thursday. Analysis: Matt Selz
Nik Stauskas is listed day-to-day with a left-knee contusion.
Stauskas left Monday's 76ers game with the knee injury and was awaiting the MRI results for more clarity. A left knee contusion is about the best possible outcome for the shooting guard as it will likely come down to pain tolerance to determine if he can play. Isaiah Canaan would draw the start in his absence on Wednesday if the former Michigan product can't go. Analysis: Matt Selz
Dolphins claimed DE/LB Quinton Coples.
Copies wasn't unemployed for long as he was waived by the Jets just yesterday after being a first-round bust from the 2012 draft. He flashed the skills that made him a first rounder while New York but not nearly enough to save his job. He will now be a depth piece and a project for Miami to develop. Analysis: Matt Selz
DeMarcus Cousins (back) did not practice on Tuesday.
Boogie Cousins missed the overtime period between the Kings and the Hornets Monday after putting up 30 and 11 in regulation. It's worth noting that Tuesday's practice was an optional one for the Kings and other key players also weren't present including Head Coach George Karl. He is firmly in the questionable category for Wednesday's game and more should known following Wednesday's shootaround. Analysis: Matt Selz
Jets signed OLB Josh Martin.
Martin had been on the Colts practice squad prior to the Jets signing him this afternoon as a depth piece who likely takes Quinton Coples former roster spot. Martin has made 21 appearances in his career registering 28 tackles and a half sack. He will make no real difference to the Jets already good defense. Analysis: Matt Selz
