Dodgers prospect SS Corey Seager promotion from High-A Rancho Cucamonga to Double-A Chattanooga will be made official Thursday.
Though a natural shortstop, Seager could find himself at the hot corner if the Dodgers expect to have him up in the big leagues next season. His .352/.411/.633 slash line with 18 home runs and 70 RBI in the California League have been ridiculously impressive and, if the scouts are right, should translate nicely to Double-A. He should already be owned in most dynasty leagues, but if he isn't, you'll want to scoop him up ASAP. ANALYST: Howard Bender
Jarrod Parker (elbow) hit 92 mph in his simulated game on Saturday.
Parker's surgery was in March of last year, knocking him out for all of 2014. Recovery has gone well for him, and he made a big step earlier in the Spring by throwing to live hitters. This was his second Tommy John procedure, so it's not a surprise that the Athletics are taking it slow with him. Parker had a decent year in 2013, his second full season in the majors, throwing 197 innings en route to a 3.97 ERA and 134 strikeouts. He's not a viable fantasy option this year, though, due to his injury. Analysis: Ben Diamond
