Clippers couldn't work out a sign-and-trade with the Brooklyn Nets for Paul Pierce.
"The Truth" had his worst NBA season in 2013-14, and is now heading into his age 37 season. While he isn't the elite talent he once was, he's a nice sign for the Wizards -- who recently lost out on Trevor Ariza -- at $11 for his final two years. ANALYST:
Aramis Ramirez confirmed that 2015 will be his final season.
Ramirez will turn 37 in June in what will be his 18th major league season. He was a legitimate 30-home run threat during the prime of his career, but now here we are 10 years past that prime and he's more of a 15-home run threat these days. Injuries were a big part of his decline and he's missed an awful lot of games over the years, but considering how bad the third base position looks this year, one last go-around with A-Ram might not be the worst thing in the world. Just make sure you have a viable back-up option. Analysis: Howard Bender
