Saints and Jimmy Graham closing in on long-term deal to make him highest-paid TE in NFL history.

That makes complete sense consider Graham is the best TE in the game. He wants to get paid like a WR, despite being a TE so expect Graham to get a monstrous contract.ANALYST: Mark Kaplan

The Sixers have traded Jason Thompson to Golden State in return for Gerald Wallace and draft considerations.

Thompson should prove to be another depth weapon for Golden State, as his best minutes might be served as a center on the second unit. He is a solid scorer and above average rebounder and rim protector, so expect him to be a nice piece in the Warriors machine.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Tigers recall RHP Jose Valdez from Triple-A Toledo.

They need some more arms in the pen with the departure of Joakim Soria, but don't expect to see much fantasy value from a guy who has never pitched in the big leagues before. Valdez will likely start out in low pressure situations and work his way up from there. Analysis: Dom Murtha

No official word on Brandon Morrow's sore right shoulder, but manager Pat Murphy said it doesn't "look like anything serious."

At this point, it appears to be a risk to carry Morrow on your fantasy roster, as he just cant stay healthy. He's been on the shelf for the Padres for what seems like all season long, and prior to this season, he's struggled to stay healthy in Toronto. Move along... Analysis: Dom Murtha

Luis Severino's next start will be with the Yankees, GM says Brian Cashman.

They really have nowhere else to turn considering they have Pineda on the DL and they made it clear that Severino is untouchable in any trade deal. The Yankees value Severino as their top prospect, and for good reason, as his upper 90's fastball has tremendous movement, and his secondary pitch, his changeup, comes from the same arm slot at about 12 mph slower with similar movement. He also features a less polished slider, but most would expect Severino to make an almost instant impact with the big league club, especially with that powerful Yankees offense backing him up.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Shin-Soo Choo is not in the Rangers lineup on Friday.

Just a day off for Choo against Madison Bumgarner. Ryan Rua will bat sixth and play left field instead.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Giants have placed Tim Hudson on the 15-day disabled list.

Hudson is going back on the DL after making just two starts in his latest return. His right shoulder still isn't feeling right. The Giants are going to need him healthy, but the 40-year-old Hudson is nearing the end of the line.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Philip Rivers and Chargers are still discussing a new contract extension.

Rivers' camp isn't showing much interest in getting a deal done with the Chargers. He might want to wait until free agency and try to use his leverage to cash in. However, that idea could backfire if he has a poor season. We think the two sides will work out a new deal eventually.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Indians recall OF Jerry Sands from Triple-A Columbus.

Sands was batting an impressive .287/.409/.538 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI at Triple-A. He'll get some time in the outfield until Nick Swisher is ready to return.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein

Indians activate RHP Josh Tomlin off 60-day disabled list and option him to Triple-A Columbus.

Tomlin hasn't pitched in a game this season and he still won't at the big league level. He'll get another shot in the Indians bullpen shortly.  Analysis: Brian Rothstein
