Adam Wainwright has been named starting pitcher for the National League All-Star team.
Personally, I would of picked Clayton Kershaw but when you're manager makes the decisions, there really is no fighting it. It isn't like Wainwright isn't deserving with his 1.83 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 115/27 K/BB ratio in 138 innings this season but just Kershaw has been outstanding and with a no-hitter under his belt. Felix Hernandez has been named the American League starter. ANALYST: Drew Phelps
Aaron Harang won't pitch Wednesday as he's working on some mechanical issues.
It should be interesting to see the results of these tweaks. Harang's season last year was nothing short of surprising as he posted a career-best 3,57 ERA. His lost a little off his K/BB ratio, but overall, the season was a big success for him. Can he maintain it? It's going to be tough in a park like Philly's and a ground ball rate below 40-percent. He's not going to be someone to draft, but keep an eye on his early and maybe think about adding him early if he has a nice run to open the season. Analysis: Howard Bender
Matt Garza will make his Cactus League debut Friday.
Garza finished last season with a 3.64 ERA over 163.1 innings but he did have a 2.80 ERA over his final 17 starts. Now the question remains, which Garza is the real one? Are we walking into 2015 with the guy we saw in the second half or will we be looking at first-half Garza who struggle mightily across the board? Chronic arm and shoulder problems continue to persist so there's even more of a risk here. Considering how late he seems to be going in drafts, he may just be worth that late-round flier, but don't be afraid to cut bait quickly should he start the season slow. Analysis: Howard Bender
