Caron Butler signed a 2 year $9 million deal with the Pistons.

Butler split time between the Bucks and Thunder last season averaging 10.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 3s over 25.3 minutes per game.ANALYST: Jonathan Impemba

Jesus Sucre will be recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Sucre will be recalled as the Mariners traded away back-up catcher Welington Castillo to the Diamondbacks in exchange for Mark Trumbo. Sucre will back-up Mike Zunino at catcher but offer no other value. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Brad Ziegler picked up his fifth save of the season on Wednesday afternoon, while allowing a ninth inning home run to A.J. Pierzynski.

The save was Ziegler’s fifth of the season, however it wasn’t as smooth as the D-Backs and fantasy owners would have liked, as he allowed a home run to A.J. Piersynski in the ninth inning. The home run was only his second allowed all season long, and is very uncharacteristic of his outings, as he is actually very good at getting players to hit the ball on the ground. Ultimately this feature will help him be an effective closer going forward, which is why it is likely that he will hold the job over Addison Reed. Analysis: Dom Murtha

Mike Foltynewicz allowed four runs across 5 2/3 innings, while striking out five on Wednesday afternoon against the Diamondbacks.

After back-to-back impressive outings, many expected a better performance from Foltynewicz on Wednesday afternoon, but instead he allowed four earned runs on eight hits across 5 2/3 innings, inflating his ERA to 4.29. This disappointing outing went a step further, as Wednesday was his first start since May 1st that he didn’t strikeout at least seven batters. His outings have been a bit hit or miss so far this year; making him a risky target in most fantasy leagues, but in daily formats, play him if you see a favorable matchup.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Rubby De La Rosa went five innings, allowed seven runs, on nine hits, and struck out eight on Wednesday afternoon against the Braves.

De La Rosa continues to give fantasy owners no reason to pick him up, as he once again was roughed up through five innings on Wednesday afternoon. Currently his ERA sits at 5.09, but on the bright side, he has a solid strikeout total (67). Despite his above average strikeout rate, pass on the young right-hander at all costs.  Analysis: Dom Murtha

Rays have been working Nick Franklin at first base the last couple of days.

Franklin was also recently seen working in the outfield as well as the Rays look for ways to get his bat into their lineup despite the fact that he is hitting a putrid .091 through 33 at bats this season. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Kelly Johnson (oblique) has began taking batting practice and doing defensive drills this week.

While the news is great for Johnson and the Braves he remains without a timetable for his return and will need to go on a rehab stint before activation. Johnson is enjoying his first year in Atlanta, hitting .259 with 11 runs, six home runs and 18 RBI over his first 28 games. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Diamondbacks acquired C Wellington Castillo, RHP Dominic Leone, INF Jack Reinheimer and OF Gabby Guerrero from the Mariners for Mark Trumbo and Vidal Nuño.

The biggest name in this deal is Castillo as the Diamondbacks had a glaring hole at the catcher position with news that Tuffy Gosewisch would miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL and only Jordan Pacheco and Jarrod Saltalamacchia on the roster. Castillo was just recently acquired by the Mariners from the Cubs.  Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Mariners have acquired Mark Trumbo from the Diamondbacks.

Trumbo was enjoying a decent season with the Diamondbacks. hitting .259 with 23 runs, nine home runs and 23 RBI. The biggest issue with him is that he is a major liability in the outfield so the trade back into the American League will allow him to see time at both first base which he played while with the Angels and DH. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Matt Shoemaker will pitch out of the bullpen for the next few days.

Shoemaker will head to the bullpen as the Angels will not need to use five starts with the way their upcoming schedule works with days off built in. After a disastrous start to his season Shoemaker has allowed just one earned run over his last two outings and will look to build upon that success should he be called upon while in the pen. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Matt Albers had pins removed from pinky and is rehabbing his finger.

Albers has appeared in four games for the White Sox this season before getting injury, allowing one earned run over 5.2 innings while striking out five. He will need to go on a rehab stint before returning to the White Sox bullpen. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
