Ian Desmond went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Orioles on Wednesday.
Desmond has now hit safely in five out the last six games and has 16 home runs and 54 RBI on the year. While most people will sit there and complain about his .240 average, the production and value you're getting from him at the shortstop position vastly outweighs his average or his high strikeout total, especially if your league doesn't even penalize for strikeouts. Bills are expected to release Mario Williams.
It was obvious that he was not fitting into the defensive scheme being employed by Rex Ryan and his staff. At 31 years of age, he still should have some skills left to devote to another team that will utilize his pass rush and tackling abilities. Look for him to catch on with another team if Buffalo decides to cut him loose. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
DeMarcus Ware said that he intends to continue playing.
Ware has been quoted as saying that "he's got a lot of gas left in the tank," so this announcement comes as no huge shock. Playing opposite Von Miller help to revitalize his game, as he snagged 7.5 sacks in 11 regular season games and 3.5 in three post season games, with two of those coming in the Super Bowl last Sunday.
