Zack Greinke gave up three run on seven hits while striking out eight over seven innings in a losing effort to the Tigers Wednesday.
Greinke's winning streak was snapped at two games after Wednesday's loss that resulted in the Tigers two-game series sweep of the Dodgers. The former CY Young award winner is now 11-5 with a 2.73 ERA in 19 starts this year and has seen a nice uptick in his strikeout totals over his last three games where he has punched out eight or more over that span. He had struck out more than seven just once over his eight previous starts.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Chris Iannetta went 2-for-4 with a grand slam against Detroit on Thursday.
Like several of his teammates, Iannetta has been bitten by the bad BABIP bug so far this season. However, Iannetta strikes out too much to ever help out in the batting average category. But he may not be as much of a drag going forward. The more concerning issue is his power, which, going back to last season, has been significantly reduced in his last 500 plate appearances. On the wrong side of 30, Iannetta may not see his power stroke return. Analysis: Brett Talley
