Jonathan Papelbon said his partial no trade clause would not impede a trade to a contender.

The Phillies aren't likely to get much in return for Papelbon in spite of the fact he's having a wonderful season. He's owed $13 million in each of the next two seasons. He currently owns a sparkling 1.27 WHIP and 0.88 WHIP, and has converted 22 of 24 save opportunities. ANALYST:

Tim Lincecum (forearm) played catch on Monday.

Lincecum hit the DL with a forearm contusion on July 2nd. He is not eligible to return until after the All-Star break, but the fact that he is returning to baseball activities is a good sign that his injury was not that serious. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Denard Span left Monday's game with an apparent injury.

It is early and no word on whether his back is acting up or this is something else. Michael Taylor will move to center with Matt den Dekker heading out to cover left. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Cory Luebke felt discomfort in his left elbow and will meet with team doctor on Tuesday.

Luebke had been progressing well during his 30-day minor league rehab stint, advancing to Triple-A at the end of June. He has not pitched since 2012 in the MLB, and is coming back from two Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgeries. Hope for the best, but do not expect anything good to come of this. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Hunter Pence (wrist) will take batting practice again on Monday. He will see doctor Tuesday about clearance to play.

Pence had a successful batting practice session on Sunday, stroking seven homers on just 18 or 19 pitches. He may still need to go off on a rehab assignment which would put his return post-All-Star break. He has not played since June 2, so despite the positive results at batting practice, he still has some rust to shake off before being activated. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Joe Ingles has agreed to a two-year deal with the Jazz.

The Jazz liked what the rookie showed in his 32 starts among his 79 games played in 2014-15, and tendered him a qualifying offer at the end of June. That has now put him under contract for the next two seasons, and allow him to contribute as a three-point threat and help out on defense. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Rays and Royals will play a double header on Tuesday.

The Monday night game has been rained out. No word on whether the rotation of either team will be altered due to the postponement, so keep an eye out for your daily selections on Tuesday. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Joe Panik is not in the Giants starting lineup on Monday.

Panik is sitting out the contest against the Mets with left-hander Jon Niese on the mound Monday night. In his place at the keystone is Joaquin Arias, who will bat in the eighth slot in the order. Panik hit southpaws fairly well, with a .279 batting average in 68 at bats in 2015, so do not expect the platoon to become a regular thing in San Francisco, he just has not had a true day off since May 21st. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson

Leandro Barbosa has agreed to a one-year deal with the Warriors.

Barbosa enjoyed a resurgence this past season in a bench role with Golden State and was probably dying to return to try and help the Warriors win back-to-back titles. The aging veteran is coming off a year in which he averaged 7.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 14.9 minutes a game and played a big role for them in the playoffs. The agreement is a one year, $2.5 million deal.  Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Danny Hultzen (shoulder) will throw a simulated game Wednesday.

Hultzen has been hit with bad luck in his young career--rotator cuff and labrum surgery in 2013 and shoulder fatigue May. He was only supposed to miss two weeks when he was put on the DL on May 26 and has struggled to make it back. This simulated game could determine a lot about his possible return this season.  Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Brandon Crawford is not in the Giants starting lineup on Monday.

Just a rest day for Crawford, who is enjoying a career-year and is a finalist to make his first career All-Star game in a reserve slot. Ehire Adrianza will start in his place and bat second against Jon Niese. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Lucas Duda is not in the Mets starting lineup on Monday.

Manager Terry Collins is giving his struggling first baseman some rest, as he is hitting .140 (9-for-64) with 25 Ks in last 17 games. With only 10 home runs and 34 RBI this year, Duda has not had the power to make him a good fantasy option. Maybe this day off to clear his head will get him back on track. Michael Cuddyer--who is struggling himself going 0-for-10 in his last four games--will start at first base tonight and bat fifth. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Manager Joe Maddon said Dexter Fowler would return to leadoff spot Tuesday against a lefty.

Although Fowler is struggling with a .105/.190/.158 line in the past week (2-for-19 over that stretch), he has been hitting lefties very well (16-for-47) with a .340/.407/.426 line and six walks this season. He is a nice option any time he goes up against a lefty, but not tonight as he faces righty John Lackey from the seven hole. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Adrian Gonzalez is in the Dodgers starting lineup on Monday.

Gonzalez left Sunday's game with a bruise on his right hand after getting pegged. Thankfully for his owners it was not serious at all and probably won't affect his performance. Gonzalez has a fantastic matchup tonight against Sean O'Sullivan. He has never faced O'Sullivan, but lefties are slashing.369/.424/.730 off him with 10 doubles and 10 home runs in 111 at-bats.  Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Clippers and Cavaliers are discussing a Jamal Crawford for the contract of Brendan Haywood trade.

The Clips have been trying to move the aging Crawford. On the surface, a trade for Haywood doesn't make sense, but their idea is to flip Haywood, possibly for David Lee. If that doesn't work out they would end up saving money with Haywood's non-guaranteed contract. As for Cleveland's side, if the shooting guard goes to there it could be a very intriguing combination with LeBron--replacing a streaky shooting J.R. Smith with an equally streaky Crawford, although Crawford is better off the dribble. Rumors are that Anderson Varejao is also involved in the trade talks.  Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Ryan Hollins is getting interest from the Kings and Pelicans.

Hollins would serve as a backup center anywhere he goes and would not warrant any fantasy value. The 30-year-old would be entering his 10th NBA season, coming off a year in which he averaged 3.0 points and 2.2 rebounds in 9.6 minutes a game. Analysis: Zack Carpenter
