League source says the Thunder, once confident they had a legit chance at Pau Gasol, now consider it a long shot to land Gasol.

Just last week, we all thought it was a done deal that Pau Gasol would be a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder but those thoughts have been downgraded to "a long shot." Gasol has been linked to the Lakers, Knicks and Heat, and has at least been contacted by the Warriors, Mavericks and Bulls. This might all come down to the all mighty dollar because the Lakers still have the biggest bargaining chip being able to offer the money most of any of those teams mentioned above. ANALYST: Drew Phelps

Alec Ogletree will miss 8 weeks after his surgery on a fractured fibula.

With Ogletree out, rookie Cameron Lynch is likely to step into a starting role. The rookie out of Syracuse has just one tackle so far this season. Ogletree had 27 total tackles and two sacks through Week 4. Analysis: Brett Talley

Nik Stauskas is expected to miss two weeks with a knee injury.

With about three weeks until the season starts, this issue should be over by then if the timeline doesn't change. But Stauskas is a just a backup on a bad Philly team, so there's not much impact here even if Stauskas misses time. Analysis: Brett Talley

George Hill left Tuesday nights preseason game with a sprained ankle.

We're still about three weeks away from the regular season so this seems unlikely to affect Hill come time for real games. Were he to miss any time, Joe Young would be in line for more minutes. Analysis: Brett Talley

Walt Weiss will return next season to manage the Rockies.

The Rockies have an uninspiring 208-278 record in three years with Weiss at the helm. But the manager has little effect on a team's record. The Rockies won't be very good next year with or without Weiss. Analysis: Brett Talley

Brice Butler (hamstring) is hoping to return from his injury after the Cowboys return from the bye.

Butler was recently acquired from Oakland and found himself some work in Dallas with Dez Bryant out. But Butler injured himself after catching a long pass from Brandon Weeded on Sunday night. Even if Butler is back by Week 7 (the Cowboys have Week 6 off), he's not much of a fantasy factor. Analysis: Brett Talley

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had successful surgery to repair a torn labrum and is expected to be out for 6 months.

MKG could well miss the entire season with this injury. P.J. Hairston is next on the depth chart at the three for the Hornets. Hairston played about 15 minutes per game in his rookie season last year and averaged 5.6 points per game. MKG's absence will really hurt the Hornets and make their entire offense less effective. Analysis: Brett Talley

Chris Copeland (family emergency) is not playing Tuesday night for the Bucks.

Since this is just a family emergency and not an injury, this won't have much impact. Copeland figures to see reserve minutes at the three for the Bucks. Analysis: Brett Talley

The Dodgers announced Brett Anderson will officially start Game 3 in the NLDS.

Anderson was a great offseason signing by the Dodgers, going 10-9 with a 3.69 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP while striking out 116 over 180.1 innings. The often injured Anderson managed to stay healthy and reach 30 starts for the first time since his rookie season in 2009. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said he expects Andre Ellington will play on Sunday.

Ellington was questionable to play in Week 4 but the Cardinals wanted to make sure he was 100% healthy before sending him out on the field. Ellington figures to split time with Chris Johnson in he backfield while David Johnson handles third down duties.  Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Andrew Luck (shoulder) said on Tuesday he is preparing to start at quarterback on Thursday.

Luck did not play in Week 4 against the Jaguars due to an injured throwing shoulder but looks on track to play Wednesday against the Texans in Week 5. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

The Jets Brought in Julian Stanford in for a workout on Tuesday.

Stanford spent the last two seasons playing for the Lions as a special teams player but was cut prior to the start of the 2015 season. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Browns signed S Ty Zimmerman to the practice squad.

Zimmerman was signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2015 but was released at the end of training camp.  Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Jose Calderon (Achilles) will start at point guard in Wednesday's preseason opener.

Calderon figures to be the Knicks starting point guard in 2015 with Langston Galloway coming off the bench at the position. Calderon was limited to just 42 games last season due to injury but averaged 9.1 points, 4.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 three-pointers per game when on the floor.  Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Lou Amundson did not practice Tuesday due to personal reasons.

Amundson averaged 4.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game last season for the Knicks but finds himself behind Derrick Williams and Kristaps Porzingis at the power forward position. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Chris Polk (knee) did not practice Tuesday.

With Arian Foster returning Polk see's his already limited fantasy value diminished and with him now dealing with a knee issue it seems unlikely he suits up Thursday against the Colts. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba
