Yankees are hopeful pitcher Michael Pineda (shoulder) can progress to throwing off a mound by the end of the week or early next week.

Pineda started throwing from 60 feet last week and then graduated to 90 feet over the weekend. While there's still no timetable for his return, given the setbacks he's incurred, throwing from a mound is goign to be a major step in the right direction for him. From there it's about bullpen sessions and batting practice which leaves rehab outings as the final step.
