Bronson Arroyo will have Tommy John surgery. He believes he tore UCL in start vs the Nationals.
Arroyo was baseballs ironman after avoiding the DL for the first 15 years of his MLB career. Now 37 years old he will attempt to comeback from Tommy John surgery with hopes of getting back on a major league mound sometime during next season. Arroyo was in his first year of a two year deal with Arizona had compiled a 7-4 record with a 4.08 ERA before his injury. ANALYST: Jonathan Impemba
Marc Krauss went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Thursday in Toronto.
Krauss is hitting only .150 with a .350 slugging percentage after launching his first home run of the season. It was just his seventh game of the season, but there’s no doubt he’ll need to cut down on the strikeouts if he’s ever going to be able to showcase the decent pop he has. The left-handed hitter was called up from AAA to try and infuse some offense in Anaheim and was slugging .639 over his past 10 games. With Matt Joyce really struggling, expect Krauss to steal some of his at-bats over the next few weeks. Analysis: Kevin Luchansky
