Manager Robin Ventura said Conor Gillaspie could be available to pinch hit Monday and should be back in the lineup on Tuesday.
Gillaspie was hit in the knee by a pitch on Sunday and suffered a bruise, but appears to be fine. Taking Monday off is just a precautionary measure and he should be fine going forward.ANALYST: David Kerr
Jed Lowrie left Monday's game with a thumb injury. He's going back to Houston Tuesday for an MRI.
In all likelihood Jonathan Villar or Marwin Gonzalez will fill in for Lowrie if he misses extended time, but there's an outside chance the first-place Astros call up uber-prospect Carlos Correa for his first major league taste. Correa is murdering the Texas League (Double-A) to the tune of .375/.429/.719 with four home runs and two stolen bases. He's worth a speculative add in competitive leagues until the situation becomes more clear. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has hinted that he wouldn't be scared to "lift" Correa straight from Double-A at some point. Analysis: Spencer Silva
