Update: Edwin Encarnacion is expected to miss two to four weeks, but that could change based on evaluation in next few days. He is expected to be placed on the disabled list.
Encarnacion strained his quad beating out a double play ball in Saturday's contest in Oakland. He drove in the runner from third (Jose Reyes), but it came at a cost. The All-Star break couldn't come at a more convenient time.ANALYST:
Carl Crawford exited Monday night's game with tightness in his right side.
It was only a matter of time before the glass-made Crawford cracked in some capacity. It's unknown whether or not he'll need a DL stint to rid him of the tightness, but if he does Scott Van Slyke and Alex Guerrero are likely to fill in for him. Guerrero has been among the hottest hitters in baseball, in a limited role, and would become mixed league relevant if/when he finds himself in the lineup. Don Mattingly, however, doesn't appear to be Guerrero's biggest fan. Let's hope he's not pigeon-holed to pinch-hitting duties. Analysis: Spencer Silva
