Carlos Gonzalez will probably play three games for the Sky Sox, which will put him in line for the Rockies return on Friday against the Twins at Coors Field.
Will believe it when I see it. Always thought Cargo was overrated and he has proven me right this season because he is always gets hurt and hasn't produced first round numbers in three straight seasons. Why would the Rockies bring him back for three games before the all-star break? That is very strange to me. Anyways, do not start him in weekly lineups leagues as Cargo will only play one to two games this week.ANALYST: Mark Kaplan
Stephen Piscotty went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday’s 6-4 loss to the Cubs.
Things definitely looked promising for the Cardinals when Piscotty gave the team an early 2-0 lead with with one swing of the bat in the top of the first inning. However, the offense largely dried up for the Cardinals after that and their season is now done. Piscotty was simply outstanding in this NLDS, going 6-for-16 with three homers, a double, six RBI and five runs scored. The sweet-swinging rookie has quickly made a name for himself in St. Louis and around the league. Analysis: Nate Miller
Ravens cut CB Rashaan Melvin on Tuesday.
Melvin started some games late last year for Baltimore, including some playoff games. But after being injured in the preseason and getting benched at halftime of Week 3, he just lost favor with the coaching staff. This isn't your run-of-the-mill no name being cut, so the Ravens are shaking things up a bit. Analysis: Brett Talley
