Suns are in early stages of contract talks with Eric Bledsoe's agent.
Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.3 steals over 32.9 minutes per game for the Suns last year. The Suns gave him a $3,726,966 qualifying offer so they could retain the right to match any offer, but would like to see about getting a longer-termed deal worked out for the 23-year-old guard. He may have a little trouble getting things worked out quickly as he shares an agent with Lebron James and that guy is on the NBA tour trying to negotiate a deal on his [James'] behalf.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Fernando Rodney has hit a recent rough patch, but said he's put it behind him.
Rodney's closing job is in danger right now, as they 38-year old has already blown a save and has given up in seven runs 3 1/3 innings. Carson Smith could be next in line for saves should Rodney be removed from the job, though Yoervis Medina is another option in the back of the bullpen. As a closer, Rodney will have to have a short term memory and put the issues behind him, as he has a great track record and the stuff is still there for him to succeed in the ninth inning.
