The Lakers made it clear to Carmelo Anthony Thursday that they'd offer the maximum, four-year, $97 milion contract they can, if he chose them.
Here's a bucket of money, Melo. This is the most we can afford. Ball's in your court know, so to speak.ANALYST: Howard Bender
The Mariners and Marlins are discussing a trade that would send Marcell Ozuna to Seattle.
After hitting 23 home runs in his first full season in 2013, Ozuna disappointed with just 10 home runs in 494 PA in 2014. His HR/FB rate fell back to around league average last year, which obviously killed his value. But he did cut his strikeout rate down from the mid-20's to the low-20's and he'll just be 25 this season, so there'a a chance for a bounce back. Unfortunately a move to Seattle wouldn't represent an upgrade in home park, but at least it's a lateral move from Miami. Analysis: Brett Talley
