Cole Hamels gave up three runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts over five innings against the Marlins on Wednesday.

After 10-straight starts of no fewer than seven innings pitched, Hamels turned in his second-shortest of the year after struggling with his command for five innings of mediocrity. He needed 97 pitches (56 strikes) and threw only 13 first-pitch strikes to the 24 batters he faced. He pitched from behind the count most of the way and was sent to the showers after the five frames. He'll look to rebound next week against the Brewers.
