Cole Hamels gave up three runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts over five innings against the Marlins on Wednesday.
After 10-straight starts of no fewer than seven innings pitched, Hamels turned in his second-shortest of the year after struggling with his command for five innings of mediocrity. He needed 97 pitches (56 strikes) and threw only 13 first-pitch strikes to the 24 batters he faced. He pitched from behind the count most of the way and was sent to the showers after the five frames. He'll look to rebound next week against the Brewers.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Odubel Herrera will bat leadoff for the Phillies on Sunday.
The Phillies like his bat, which is why they made him a Rule 5 pick from Texas. He figures to play all three outfield positions as well as second base this spring. He will likely be a bench player out of camp if he can hit this spring. He did show some power development in the Venezuelan Winter League, but it remains to be seen if that is something that moves forward for him or not. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
