Adrian Beltre went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored against the Orioles on Wednesday.
Beltre has now hit safely in each of his last six games and is batting .450 (9-for-20) with two home runs, six RBI and four runs scored in that span. While the overall power numbers are down, his average remains strong at .335 and his .381 OBP continues to remain helpful. He's seeing the ball well still, so perhaps the power will resurface come the second half of the season.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Matt Andriese gave up four runs over 3 1/3 innings as the Rays lost to the Yankees 5-3 on Sunday.
The Yanks hit Andriese up pretty good on Sunday, but it wasn’t like they absolutely shelled him. Four runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings isn’t pretty, but it also isn’t catastrophic. In any case, manager Kevin Cash decided to pull the 25-year-old right-hander after only 63 pitches, leaving the rest of the game up to the bullpen. He now appears to have a spot in this Ray’s rotation, so he needs to work on stretching himself out and keeping the ball on the ground, rather than getting hit hard or getting into deep counts. As of now, he’s not worth a fantasy roster spot, so look for starting pitching help somewhere else on the waiver wire. Analysis: Dom Murtha
