Josh Hamilton hit his second home run in three games after blasting a solo-shot in four at-bats of Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.
July present an interesting month for the former MVP as it is the month where he has missed the most games, excluding September/October, over his career. But hey, at least he is healthy and has already hit half the number of home runs he had coming into the month, and we are just two days into July.ANALYST: Michael Pichan
Kyle Ryan went four innings, allowed two runs, on three hits, and five walks, while striking out four in a loss to the Pirates on Thursday afternoon.
Ryan has been used as a reliever and spot starter for the Tigers so far this season, and he didn’t step up like the Tigers needed him to on Thursday afternoon, as he only lasted four innings, allowing two runs, and walking five against the Pirates. There is something to be said for him holding the opposition to only two runs despite the eight baserunners, but still the Tigers needed a more efficient outing out of Ryan, and he didn’t deliver. Don’t expect much better than this from Ryan going forward in your fantasy leagues. Analysis: Dom Murtha
Matt Harrison will start for the Rangers Tuesday or Wednesday, according to GM Jon Daniels.
This is welcoming news for the Rangers as you can never have too much starting pitching depth. With Harrison's 30-day rehab stint finally over, Texas had to make a decision, and they are choosing to insert the veteran lefty back into their rotation. Harrison struggled during his rehab starts, but that wasn't much of a surprise given his layoff. He's worth an add in AL-Only leagues, but we are going to need to see several solid starts before we give a deeper recommendation. Analysis: David Kerr
