Josh Hamilton hit his second home run in three games after blasting a solo-shot in four at-bats of Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.

July present an interesting month for the former MVP as it is the month where he has missed the most games, excluding September/October, over his career. But hey, at least he is healthy and has already hit half the number of home runs he had coming into the month, and we are just two days into July.ANALYST: Michael Pichan

Jason Richardson (knee) is unlikely to play Wednesday.

Richardson is dealing with a knee issue that has now held him out the last two games. He was hoping to return to the lineup Wednesday but it appears that the injury has not really subsided at all. Robert Covington will continue to see the work in his absence. Analysis: Howard Bender

Hisashi Iwakuma will pitch in a Triple-A game against the Padres on Thursday.

This is just a tune-up for his first start of the regular season. There is nothing to the fact that it is a minor league start here, so don't read in to anything. Analysis: Howard Bender

Nick Franklin (left oblique) is feeling better enough to get on the field Tuesday. He'll still start the season on the disabled list.

Franklin isn;t expected to be out for long, but the Rays will make sure that he doesn't push too hard, too soon. They don;t want him to re-aggravate the injury. Logan Forsythe will handle the work at second in his absence while Asdrubal Cabrera is at shortstop. Analysis: Howard Bender

Free agent RB Jacquizz Rodgers is visiting with the Chicago Bears.

Rodgers will tour around looking for work, but he's not likely to find anything of any real substance. The undersized back had a hard time developing in Atlanta and doesn't really have the breakout running style many hoped he would have. He would be nothing more than a depth play.  Analysis: Howard Bender

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons announced Justin Smoak will be on the Opening Day roster.

Smoak is expected to platoon at the DH slot with Danny Valencia and Dioner Navarro while also spelling Edwin Encarnacion at first base. If he comes out of the gate like he did last year, then he should see some decent at-bats early, but with the uncertainty of playing time, he's only worth targeting in deeper AL-only formats for the time being. Analysis: Howard Bender

If Justin Verlander doesn't pitch Friday, he will not make his scheduled start Wednesday.

Well that seems reasonable enough. If his triceps tightness doesn't subside, the Tigers will probably start him off on the DL this season. He would still come back in April as the injury isn't supposed to be too serious, but you will have to monitor his progress. Analysis: Howard Bender

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons announced Tuesday starting pitcher Daniel Norris will be part of the team's Opening Day rotation.

Norris posted a 3.28 ERA over 24 2/3 innings this spring, but even more important was the 29:5 K:BB he put up. He's a fantastic prospect and is coming off an outstanding season last year in which he posted a double-digit K/9 which increased with each level he climbed. The likelihood of a late-season innings cap is likely, but you can certainly enjoy the strikeouts here in the first half. Analysis: Howard Bender

Deron Williams, who missed practice with an illness Monday, is at shootaround this morning.

Williams will be key for tonight's match-up against Indiana. If he is unable to go, Jarrett Jack will be a good fantasy fill-in for daily leagues. During the Nets playoff run, Williams has been great with Brook Lopez and will continue to need that production in hopes of catching the Celtics for the eighth spot in the East. Analysis: Rob Trayah

David Lough said his hamstring issues and back spasms were related. His back feels fine now. Just a matter of getting his hamstring healthy.

Lough was going to miss Opening Day anyways as the Orioles have already put him on the DL. Jimmy Parades will get a roster spot thanks to Lough's hammy issues and will look to impress enough to stay on the team when the outfielder returns. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Cavaliers have assigned Joe Harris to Canton Charge of D-League.

Harris opens up a roster spot as he hasn't played since Mar. 15 and only played five times in March. The Cavs will look to lock up their second seed in the Eastern conference this week. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Bruce Rondon (neck) will pitch Tuesday.

Rondon hasn't had a great spring, but nobody in the Tigers' bullpen has been good either. He will get more work in hopes to be ready for opening day next week. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Orioles have officially named Chris Tillman their Opening Day starter.

Tillman will toe the rubber against the Rays, a good matchup to start the year. He is not exactly the ace you pitch, but Tillman can provide some good starts through out the year if he is able to figure out his control. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Sandy Leon is making his Red Sox debut Tuesday against Tampa Bay.

Leon was acquired on Monday to help replace Christian Vasquez and will fight Humberto Quintero for the back-up job. Analysis: Rob Trayah

Thaddeus Young will be available to play Tuesday against the Pacers.

Young will return after a two-game absence to face Indiana in a crucial playoff-push game. He will get his starting spot back and get the minutes to make a solid impact on your fantasy team. Analysis: Rob Trayah
