July present an interesting month for the former MVP as it is the month where he has missed the most games, excluding September/October, over his career. Mark Teixeira went 3-for-4 with a solo home run against the Mets on Saturday.
That’s Tex’s eighth home run of the year. He won’t continue to hit home runs at this rate, but it’s not unreasonable to think he can hit 25 or more this year. He has also drawn as many walks as he has strikeouts. And he’s hitting .254 despite a .163 BABIP. That’s mainly because most of the balls he’s hitting are leaving the yard right now, but it’s still encouraging for his batting average going forward. Analysis: Brett Talley
